Response to COVID-19
Monticello Academy took swift action during the COVID-19 pandemic to mitigate risks on campus and keep our students, faculty, staff, and families safe. During the summer of 2020, ionized hydrogen peroxide systems and high-grade air filters were installed into the HVAC system which disinfected all air passing through the rooftop units. With the air being disinfected, and other hygiene procedures taking place, Monticello Academy saw few COVID-19 cases at both campuses with no evidence of spread within the schools. The student cases that occurred were a result of exposure outside of the school.
Due to Monticello Academy’s swift actions and extremely low COVID-19 case numbers, the school was able to start the normal five-day-a-week schedule.
While other schools in the area were attending school four days a week with an online day, Monticello Academy students were back on campus for a full schedule of in-person learning. Teachers and staff value the in-person learning model and saw student learning increase exponentially with the change.
