Joel Coleman (MPA, BYU ’97) has made a career of public service. Within the field of education, he has served as a teacher, a member of the Utah State Board of Education, Utah’s interim Superintendent of Public Instruction, and, for the past seven years, the superintendent of Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind. He has also served in as an elected city council member (West Valley City), a Redevelopment Authority and Housing Authority Board Member, and chairman of a public stormwater utility, and as the interim executive director of the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation.
