Dane Roberts is in his 21st year in education and his 7th year leading Monticello Academy, first as the director of the original campus and now overseeing both campuses as executive director.

Before joining Monticello Academy, Mr. Roberts taught and then led at some of the highest-achieving schools in Texas, including a KIPP charter school and the first Chinese immersion school in the state. Mr. Roberts grew up in Utah and New Mexico then studied Philosophy and History of Western Civilization at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. While a teacher, he received a full scholarship to attend Rice University’s business school, earning an MBA with and emphasis on education entrepreneurship and school leadership. He is now earning his doctorate in education at Brigham Young University, where he is studying the role schools can play in character formation.

Mr. Roberts is passionate about recruiting top talent, developing teaching excellence, and using great curriculum–especially Core Knowledge. He loves spending time with his wife and five children in the outdoors.
