Public schools typically take a “skills-based” approach when it comes to learning, so students focus heavily on math and reading. Not us. At Monticello Academy, we use a Core Knowledge curriculum to create a more balanced education in history, science, literature, and the arts. Your child can be exposed to a content-rich, cross-disciplinary curriculum that starts as early as kindergarten! This curriculum gives students a love for learning and a strong foundation for their higher education.
Math is integral in future education opportunities. So, we’ve turned to the most successful math curriculum to help teach our students. We’ve brought the Singapore curriculum to our West Valley charter school which emphasizes hands-on learning, conceptual understanding, and rigorous application.
There’s more to life (and school) than math, reading, and exams. Students deserve a well-rounded education that includes art instruction, music, physical education, and more. To help ensure our students are prepared for their future, we emphasize character development and high behavioral expectations using principles taught by Thomas Jefferson.
